Catfish Kitchen

I love fried catfish and was happy with the prices. The only problem I have is not enough white beans are brought out. I thought the little single sized bowl of the beans was just for my order but found out it was to be shared between my husband and I. Loved the fish & hush puppies and some of the beans. I had ordered the onion rings but didn't care for them for two reasons, the batter wasn't very good & they gave me half a plate full. I ate two and that was all.

Hate to write a bad review. We have been coming here for years.and always loved the food But the last two times the fish was under cooked almost raw. The hush puppies, which is what we loved most tasted under cooked also. What has happen to our little gem? Maybe a new cook that doesn’t know how to fry properly? Please try to do better I would hate to see such a staple in our community go down. Not sure what happened. The owner used to come out and greet his customers one on one . Someone mentioned it was under new ownership. Maybe that’s the problem.

Table service and time: Went with a family party of 20- and the server handled it expertly! And with an amazing attitude too. The wait for the food was LENGTHY, but the food (all 20 meals) came out at the same time, hot. And there were endless, delicious hush-puppies in the meantime. So that mostly made up for the time it took. Food: However, the food was not impressive. I got the seafood platter and tried the food from many relatives’ plates. Everything was flavorless. The fry on the numerous deep-fried items was crispy👍, but flavorless. The hot fries were not spicy by any means. Even the coleslaw and the tartar sauce were bland. The hush-puppies were very good though. Environment-wise: it was very busy- understandable considering it’s location. But they also had a downstairs that was the perfect place for our large group. Other than the amazing service from our tables waitresses, all other service was sorely lacking. Very curt and free of southern-hospitality for being a southern restaurant.

We went here for our Anniversary and let me tell you it did not disappoint! The catfish; the star was light and flaky and cooked very well, not over, not under. The mashed potatoes are real potatoes which made me smile it really bothers me to get instant potatoes at any sit down restaurant if they are truly worth their weight in salt. My husband has been saying he wants some good quail for 9 yrs and now we finally found the place! I've never had quail but it was delicious, melt in your mouth good. And the chocolate fudge pie was the perfect treat to top off the meal and since it was our anniversary it was on the house. 😊 Which brings me to the Awesome staff! Hailey was our waitress and she's excellent as well as the rest of the bunch were very welcoming and friendly! We will be back 100%!

Ordered from this establishment a few times now and all was great. This time the restaurant failed to provide the cocktail sauce for my shrimp and door dash failed to check if the order was correct. I was taught at an early age by a friend's mothernin the restaurant industry to give a nice tip. This has got me rethinking my normally 30+% tipping habit. Kids these days are gonna be the end of our way of life as we know it.
